As there is more activity around here, can I please get some feedback on my previous posting :?:

And for our new train fans around here, could you please look at the first post of this topic which contains my "revamped" version of the intro music and give me some feedback on this?

You are back! Woot!

Shame on me I really did forget to post on your midi - I listened to it right when you asked.
I really like it - but I think I need to hear it with the right instruments to really get a good grip on it.
I guess the basework is perfect - now its those instruments which need to really fill it with something detailled.

I also always appreciate remixes / medleys... maybe one day we can have a Heavy Metal Audio Pack or something like that. :D

You mean the original music? Nope, not found anything yet. My work is completly based on my hearing and reconstructing the music.

https://christian-wederka.de/transarctica.mp3 (Intro music. By the way: Just look at the first post in this topic on page 1 ;) )
https://christian-wederka.de/Transarctica2.mid (Travel music from the Amiga version. Still with MIDI sounds. You need a MIDI player ie. the Windows Media Player)

Just a short update on the Amiga travel music. I finished about 95% of this music (some small bits are actually hard to figure out) but here's what I've catched with my ears:

Awesome good job :) Music is definitely on the right track :)

I like Kone's idea with mixes. We may include longer OST tot he game as we are not in 1993 anymore. Like original works, legal mixes etc. What is your opinion?

Please note that I am only a hobby musician. I understand how to read & write music scores and I also have some very basic understanding of harmonics (I've never had lessons by the way) but my knowledge is definetly not sufficient enough to compose other tracks which will fit into the game.

I'd suggest that we take a look on "Kevin McLeod" videos on youtube as his music is free to use for everyone. There are so many pieces that I'm pretty sure that we'll find something that will fit.

Just for example:

Happy new year everyone

I just decided to give the travel music a snapshot with some better instrument sounds and I'd like to read your opinion about it:

https://christian-wederka.de/transarcti ... -music.mp3

I probably have to recheck the scores I wrote because for me it seems that there are some variations in the loudness in between the single tracks and some notes. I think the percussion (Snare drums, Timpani & Bell sounds) should already be in a good condition and properly mixed together. I'm currently not planning to do any further adjustments on the percussion but let me know if something sounds wrong in your ears :)

My main concern is about the string sections. I boosted the bass frequencies the continous base line to give the whole track more pressure. I also applied a slight reverb to all tracks to make it sound a little bit wider. The lead pad (about 0:53s into the track) is my personal preference right now but it would be nice if you can tell me if this is going in the right direction.

Greetings

The humming is a bit much in my opinion, especially after 0:50 when there are less notes. It sounds like a WW2 Bomber flying in the background :)
