All right boys and girls, get ready for Milestone 1!

To get us started real quick we need to set up a basic game to be expanded later.
I've seen many projects fail because they always tried to incorporate the 'big picture'.

That's where our Tech Demo comes in.
It will be designed in such a way that it can be expanded later with additional features.

So my proposal is:
  • Basic world screen, just two cities connected via tracks - we need tiles for the snow and the tracks and the cities - maybe also mountains
  • Each city is just a placeholder - maybe we can use the industry city and the mammoth fair since tzoli already has those (see tzoli's DA)
  • The train can actually move, we will need the screen of the transarctica engine's cabin to shovel some coal
  • We will need the GUI of the game repainted as well (see the screenshot below - everything around the clock)
  • We should also look for some free sound effects to incorporate basic sound aswell
  • We will need to come up with some formulas to calculate the speed of the train

Summary:
Create a small world with two towns, be able to drive from one to another, load the pictures of the towns aswell, view all the commando wagons (without the rocket launcher) without working features (except for the engine, you need to shovel some coal), view the region map (not the big world map).

Tzoli:
Can you provide the items in orange above?

So what do you think?

File comment: The second town is below - you have to scroll down in the game to see it.

This was just a quick cut+paste action to show what I mean for the first version.
The PC Dos has better graphics I think... so it's better for us. :)

I think you can remove the tileset from the to do list as only a very few missing ones are needed now.

I think I soon finish (in one day) the Urga picture than I can start working on the Boiler Room.
About the Interface, I'm not sure if I can do that but I can try
I think sound effects are not hard to find

For the game What about this file structure:
The Exe contains all the necessary calculations and such while other files and folders contains the date like Localisations, Pictures, Stats Etc etc

Am I right that it would be hopeless to try to excavate information from the original game's files?
The .IO and .FIC files?

I don't have much time right now and I can't find reliable information about these file formats fast.
.io seems to be an archive format - who knows what's in there.

But I guess we don't really need the data.
Some more development and my script will extract the world map data from your world map to recreate the world with your much better tiles later.
