A question that came into my mind:

How do they fill that giant boiler with a decent amount of coal? Do they have integrated feeder bands for that?

Large Locomotives have a screwdriver like feeding system:

Am I the only one who see some Transarctica inspiration?

This is seriously inspired by Transarctica I think!

On another topic I was in holiday but couldn't resist checking out some nice trains of course.
This one was built in the Belle Époque period and the design is quite cute.

It's a narrow gauge tramway with partly being a cog railway.
When reaching a certain part of the track a small locomotive was coupled.

Read more about it here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rittnerbahn

Nice picture of it here, it's really cute, no?

Some images from me, also from the museum about railways in this area:

This is the one I was in:

More from the museum about other railway in this region.
(google images wanted to add some snow at one of the pics, I thought it was okay)

Finally I also got to try these nice little railways.
If I ever get rich I will have a big garden and drive them endlessly.

I think Transarctica is actually a Locomotive with high pressure water-tube boilers.
Only two such locomotives built one is normal looking, but the other is quite nice!

It has such a unique look!

And after it's conversion, it became like the Mallards:

Nuclear powered trains!
Not that they really build them but it could be possible!

Sadly the design was taken from the Diesel trains at this time, not like the Fallout-Style Nuclear-Reactor Powered Cars from this time like the Ford Nucleon.

This. Is. Ingenious!!
(Ok the track is ridiculous at the second half but ok...)

Both engines are real beauties, but I like the red one a little bit more! :D
Go ferrari-engine!! ;)

This could be a nice computer-game too. :-)
