  • More goods, more trading, more actual economy
  • neutral trains. Attack them if you are a pirate or guard them or leave them be
  • BUY COAL from some towns

  • We could add our ideas seemless after the normal transarctica game has been finished. So: How is it after the sun comes out again? Rogue Viking Union Trains roam the lands, more cities are being build, there are trecks of settlers trying to rebuild civilisation...
  • Stationary base! YOU (the player) founds a new city for all people who are being chased by the viking union or cannot find a good job in this new world. You are picking up survivors everywhere and people in cities who want to join you. You drive them with your train to your new city. The city will get bigger and bigger - you can construct new stuff there like houses, cannons (for defense), a wall and get some scientists to do research and so on. Maybe also build new trains and wagons :D

Extra Feature: Pause the game when the Alert sounds. I often not fast enough to hit the clock and slow down the game to check why the alert sounds!

  • before each train fight you will have a 'tactic period' in which you have enough time to 'place' your train, put some commands up (for cannons etc.), and so on (from petter )
  • side-quests: "go kill this train" - "go kill this wolve pack" - "bring us X tons of X until the time X" - "gather at least 200 soldiers to drive away these rats here" (level1, standard quest :D ). quest-giver could be cities. quests could be auto-generated. this will add to the game - maybe you get XP for it or coal. maybe you can choose.
  • limited supply: you cannot just buy 20 cannons in a industry city. They have just 4. Will get more later. :D

  • if you hit an enemy train with a missile - be it using those small wagons or the flight mode - the train should be stopped and some of the wagons should be destroyed, some others should have some scratches. It's totally unlogical to have the enemy train completely destroyed when the missile is flying, but have the enemy train just stopped for some hours if you hit it directly with the missilie on the small wagon.
  • Different missiles. Categories: 'just some scratches', 'will destroy some wagons', 'the train won't move for at least some days', 'armageddon - death from above'
  • markings, from which you can see the damage on the enemy train wagons. A hitpoint-bar would be also nice I think.

I think the missile which is a heat seeker and isn't loaded into the inspection cars (Which then become small rolling bombs) but launched at the enemy are to destroy the locomotive thus making the train a sitting duck, though still can defend itself via it's war wagons and troops

  • After you play through the original part of the map (which is the transarctica original game map) we could unlock a bigger map around the original map. After the sun comes out not only NEW TOWNS start to grow (maybe we just re-introduce the towns TZoli found which were likely removed) we also expand the area which you can visit. The viking union might not be this strong anymore but there are other unions, maybe the Amercian Union which is ruling over North- and South-America.
  • If the ice is really melting some tracks will start to disappear. If the tracks has been laid on ice only then all tracks would disappear but we don't need to do that I think. We should keep the main lines intact and we should make the new map (the after-sun-map (powered by L'oreal 'after-sun-lotion :) ) more green.
  • New Feature: You can lay tracks where you damn well please. Maybe you can also start new towns where there is enough place on the map. So you would have a network of own towns in where you can get some built some buildings, gather people, get some free ressources, do new quests etc.

I'll try to sum up the ideas I gathered with the help of some very nice guys from another (railway-game) forum (german).

Train fights - modes
  • easy - 'round-based': You get to move your train, fire your guns/cannons ONCE, issue ONE (changed) command to your soldiers (if you don't give a new command the soldiers will follow their latest command when you press 'next round'), and so on. Then you click the 'next round' button and the enemy does the same.
  • normal - 'Real Time Strategy with PAUSE': Just like the old game but you get unlimited PAUSE time. Just hit the space bar, plan everything, issue commands, press spacebar again and see the commands carried out.
  • hard - 'The original thing': Just like the old game: Get wasted by trains half as big as yours easily. :D

What do you guys think?

Do you have any idea regarding Atomics?

I've read your post on a german forum (translation provided by google...)
And I know you want a possible Nuclear Locomotive. Apart from this what else could be connected to the potential of Atoms?
