Inspired by a nearly-possible ending from Fallout 2

I thought about letting the user decide the ending.
Why not flee earth?
In Fallout they thought about leaving earth in shuttles, docking with a big station/spaceship and I think they wanted to leave our solar system for another earth.

Also I totally love spaceships.
So I thought: why not let the user have another 'ending quest' if he wishes.
Start by stealing and repairing some good old shuttles...

What do you think? :D

I'm not so sure. That makes the story of the game useless as your mission to find and bring back the "Sun" !
Also what do you think a possible moon base or an expanded International (Alpha) Space Station would look like after 700 years of no use? Remember the Soviet MIR? :XD:

I would like the game more open, it was a great game but when the mission is finished you are done with it. So I would like, if the game could be played just for the fun like elite.
As long as you don't mess to much with the viking unit. They will not sent much after you, that will change if you attack viking union trains or if you start with the mission,
I think in the story should be a group of free traders using the tracks for a little extra trade or piracy so you could trade with them share information or fight them if the Map is big enough there should be room for them an it would make the world more plausible.

Hi

I come a long time after the discussion, but I have read all the books of the Compagnie des Glaces, which inspired this game. I can suggest multiple scenarios, if you want, all related to the books.
The first of course is the one we all know: return of the sun. But we can also imagine creation and management of another newtork, the firebelt, the mountains and telepheric wars, and some more.
First, maybe, just to suggest a couple of new maps, for example.

About new maps I once started to create the new rail networks but only finished Africa. We thought there would be multiple such networks: Eurasia, Africa, Australasia, and either both Americas as separate or as one as Transamerica. You can find the map here:
http://forums.sunlightsystems.de/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=18
It includes the fully developed map of the game, possible removed towns and the map edited to fit the real world map.
