Does anyone know Galaxy Express 999? No, it's not an Android based phone.

It was anime TV series and movies about guy who wanders around the galaxy aboard the Galaxy Express line. On the line runs a bit mystical modular (wagons) spaceship/train hybrid that lifts off and lands as a steam train but travels the space as a space ship.

I have to admit I do not like the main character as he is too young and presumably has serious Oedipus-complex and I rather like stories about adult characters who can get romantically involved, I do like the picaresque (travel based) scifi setting and the mood of the movie.

It is one of Leiji Matsumoto's anime and are located in the same universe as Space Pirate Captain Harlock, and Queen Emeraldas.
But the first and most known anime of him is Space Battleship Yamato (Or the rewritten, re dubbed and thus worse version from yours truly, America: Star Blazers)
I assume the Galaxy Express trains too use the same kind of Wave Motion Engine as the Yamato to enter Warp Space.

I liked the space battleship yamato film very much.
It was quite the sight seeing the battleship fall on to the planet and in the last moment: 'waaaaarp!!'

Regarding Space Trains I like the living one in 'Welcome to the space show'.
I couldn't find this train-trailer in english, sorry:

Actually I would be very interested in a halfway sane concept of space trains.
